My Trip To Bookcon

Hey what's up guys! SiahLegend here with not really a book review more sort of an update. So this weekend on Saturday I went to book con at Jacob K. Javits center. And it was a lot of fun. I went to a panel featuring Jeff Kinny talking about his story as a writer/artist/cartoonist and the trials he had to go through to get to where he was. He even talked about his new book The Getaway (in the wimpy kid series).

So I was walking around and (by chance) I found Brandon Mull! He's the author of Fable Haven, Five Kingdoms, and Beyonders. I was on the 3rd book of Five Kingdoms when I was at the event and didn't expect him to be there! Since the line wasn't long I waited in line. While I was waiting in line I met with the moderator who was moderating the Jeff Kinny panel. I then took this opportunity to ask him a question I wanted to ask Jeff. We talked about Wimpy kid and then I brought that I wanted to bring up the "new rodrick" and his opinion on it. And the moderator said that with any new generation of movies nostalgia will take over making people not like the newer version and I respect that. Just because something is new doesn't mean it's bad. But then I said goodbye to Kevin (the moderator) and went back in line for Brandon. We talked and got a picture (and a poster for being a "dedicated" fan). And that concludes my visit to book con.
