Lies I Told

This book was (and I have to say) pretty darn good. So the story is about a girl who's in a family of a mom, dad, and a brother. The brother and sister are both adopted and it's a secret but they're all robbers or con artists. Around every couple months the family moves across the country of the US performing cons (never usually big stuff just stealing money from households or things like that) but now they're performing their biggest con yet in California. They're stealing 20 mil in gold and it's by this rich family's son who's basically scared there's going to be a zombie apocalypse. Hijinks ensue as the popular girl Rachel thinks something is weird with Grace and Grace becomes a little too close to her friend Logan. Will she be able to break away from him and continue the con or stop and have it blow up in her face.
This book I have to say is my 2nd favorite book ever. 1st is the Blood Of Olympus by Rick Riordan. However, this book was fantastic in which I was invested in the characters. Rachel being pushed aside by a new girl, Logan's struggle to look independent and sure of himself at all times, Grace questioning if she's a good person or not and Parker (Grace's adopted brother) wondering if his family is really is his family. These problems all feel relatable and make me connected to the characters. They're grounded in reality and that's why the ending hit me hard.
The ending to this book was phenomenal and showcased that not every book has a happy ending. I do not think ANYBODY was expecting the twist at the end. My only problem is that I don't think there should have been a sequel and it should have been left the way it was but what do i know.
Overall, I'd give this book a solid 9/10. It would've been around a 7/10 but the ending swept me off my feet giving this book a 9/10.
